Riina O latest glove collection has been inspired by bioluminescence - the miracles of nature from underwater to the stars.

Our muse for the season is Arda Alden Green - an American biochemist from the early 20th century, who despite being overshadowed by the greater names, made remarkable discoveries of her own. One of those was the reaction responsible for firefly bioluminescence, found by isolating firefly luciferase. Never fully recognised for her work we´d like to take the chance to honour her achievements.

In this collection Riina O introduces a striking new material for elegant wear - the high-tech retroreflective leather, luminous in the dark. The concept is highlighted by the glove “points” stitched in similarly retroreflective thread.

Riina O gloves range from stylish dress gloves with a twist to classy casual models and outstanding hand accessories. Classical craftsmanship is accompanied by laser cut patterns on the retroreflective leather.

Soft hues of the dusk blue and classical black alternate with silvery grey, lighting up brightly in the dark. The mystery is accentuated by nocturnally glowing glass bead embroidery.
